FALSE PRETENCE LIVIN’: GRADUATE COLLECTION
False Pretence Livin’ is a reimagined 1980’s era inspired by juxtaposing the feeling of structure and chaos. Amani’s graduate collection encompasses her strongest interests which include creative pattern cutting, her flair for shape-making and exaggerated silhouettes, whilst being rooted in avant-garde design.
A TALE OF TRANSCENDENCE
In response to the ‘Unpicking Couture’ exhibition at Manchester Art Gallery, A Tale of Transcendence challenges the future of couture. Fashion is always evolving, and Amani’s interpretation of this brief was to create modular, transformative couture pieces that are completely functional, and can exist in our everyday life.
Amani was selected as one of the winners, with her garments being shot at their archival building. A film detailing her design experience is being displayed at the exhibition, and can be viewed along with her portfolio on the Bloomberg Connects App.
TECHNICAL PORTFOLIO
A collection of technical specification boards that reflect the production of Amani’s complex garments, as well as using innovative softwares like CLO3D to communicate technical information and key details.
